Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a new dentist?
You should choose a new dentist based on not only the dentist’s experience but also the feeling you get when you’re in their office. Dr. John Nosti has undergone extensive education and has improved the lives of his patients for many years, but he’s also approachable. Dr. Nosti wants your entire family to feel welcome when you’re in our office. You’re not just a number in our books — you’re a person with a unique smile and set of circumstances. We’ll treat you individually and help you attain your smile goals.
How do I make an appointment as a new patient?
If you’re new to our office, you can contact us by calling our Mays Landing office at (609) 625-3499 or our Somers Point office at (609) 927-8448. If you can’t call, you can also leave us a message through our online contact form and we’ll get back to you quickly.  We’ve conveniently made our new patient forms available online so you can fill them out before your appointment. That way, you’ll be able to take all the time you need to make sure your information is correct.  At your first appointment, we usually don’t do a cleaning because we need to assess your oral health needs first. You’ll get a chance to meet us and Dr. Nosti will examine your teeth to determine the type of care you need. You can also discuss your goals and desires with him.
How long is too long to not go to the dentist?
We recommend that you visit our office twice a year, or every six months. This ensures that all the plaque and bacteria can be thoroughly cleaned off your teeth so they don’t lead to cavities or oral disease.  If you go for too long without visiting the dentist, the plaque on your teeth hardens and becomes difficult to remove without a professional’s help. So even if you clean your teeth properly at home, you won’t be able to remove it. If you haven’t been to the dentist for a long time, we recommend scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. Even if you aren’t in pain, you could have decay eating away at your teeth and causing problems that may be more difficult to fix in the future.
